sway bar bushings

I just replaced my sway bar bushings today and noticed that when I tightened the straps down on the front if I tightened them all the way to where the strap touches the mounting plate then the bushing was deformed is the correct or do I back them off where there bushing looks normal......Jason

The brackets need to be tightened all the way down. Do you have the correct size bushings? There are 2 different sizes.

I have the 1 1/4" sway bar with those bushings so I will tighten them all the way down just seams the bushings distort when you do that but not a problem....Jason
