Hello everybody! I'm needing help with my sway bar mounts. I have a '79 K5 and am in the process of installing a 6" lift. My sway bar does not line up now and I'm looking for a solution. I can't seem to find any products on-line. Any info will be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

My thoughts:

That 6 inch lift im guessing is with some hard a springs.

I dont think your going to notice too much not having it there. I took mine off my wore out soft 4 inch springs and barely noticed.

I think you need to drop the mounts on the frame to make up for the increased distance, but i havnt really seen anyone do that

something like this i would imagine

Yep, drop the bar down at the frame crossmember end. Like the link in the post below yours.

Superlift and Skyjacker also sell the drop brackets.

You could always drop the coin for a sway bar disconnect from Off Road Design. Lots of people toss the swaybar completely. I run a disconnect , and without the bar connected i notice a HUGE difference, freeway on-ramps are unbareable without. Drive the truck without the bar and see if its tolerable . Then make the judgement.

I ended up ditching my sway bar because the links were too short after a 4" lift. About the only time it gets a little sketchy is when I hit a bump when I'm on an on-ramp. What I do is just turn about as sharp as I can to the right. Or just go a little slower.

Looks like I'll give it a shot without the sway bar seems how we dont have any on ramps in these parts lol. I think the ol K5 will be pretty stiff with the 6" all spring lift. Thanks for the input!
