ok so im doing cross over steering and i have a 4" lift and a swing away tire carrier on the rear that has a 35" spare on it which changed the handling quite a bit i had to connect the front sway bar again and i changed the setting on my rancho 9000's
so the question is what would be the spring rate or torsion rate for the off road sway bar
or has any one else done something different
i never used the sway bar before the tire carrier was put on
 
Not entirely sure I understand your question. Aftermarket sway bar?

If youre talking about something like a sway-away, you can tune it. The spring rate of the bar itself is fixed, but depending on where you bolt the end links to the trailing legs of the bar, you can put more or less leverage on the bar.

Stock bar with stock setup, not adjustable.
 
I have to agree the question is hard to understand.
As far as "spring rate" uh none.... A sway bar does not provide support, it simply transfers the off angle axle/spring travel to the frame.

For example going around a left hand turn the truck wants to lean to the right. The sway bar transfers the up travel of the right side and the down travel of the left to push up on the right frame rail and pull down on the left frame rail, thus keeping your rig from leaning.

It sound to me as if you might need a set of helper springs in the rear to compensate for the load.
 
Basically I'm wanting to know how stiff of a sway bar to get
Torsion bats and torsion type sway bars are measured in spring weight
 
There's a thread around here somewhere. For the most part, just about everyone just ditched the sway bar - me included. I saw one where someone used an aftermarket swaybar, but it it took a lot of work and was fabbed in through the frame rail less than an inch from the steering box.
