I put anti-rock on the rear of my linked truggy. If I flex it all the way it bends the arms?
 
The diameter and length of the bar as well as the length of the arms (and even the mounting of the arm to the axle/link) all factor into the stresses on the bar.

So yes, there are some sway bar setups (not just the bar, but with all the variables taken into account) that can be long travel and still stay hooked up. And some that can't.
 
Well I would like to keep it hooked. I installed it to what the vague instructions said.
