Seems I might need one. After the last trip especially out in the flats there seems to be plenty of body roll to go around. What would be the recommendation from the group? Will a sway bar interfere out in the big dunes and bowls, or am I just in a catch 22 type of place wanting flexibility & stabilization?

I am in the same position as you. Ditched mine to go crossover and the body roll is just too much to handle, even with super stiff shocks.

In any case, I just ordered one of these:

They are softer than a normal sway bar and are supposed to allow full articulation yet still control body roll. They guys have two stiffnesses (rock racer - stiffer and rock crawler - less stiff). Currie makes a similar design that a lot of jeep guys run.

The one I am ordering is 100% fab to get it to work. Even though my 73 had one, I can't make anything fit in the stock location with the crossover steering.

what springs are you guys running? just a thought....

it reminds me of Rene's issues with his custom Alcan packs being unstreetable...

they're too soft for no anti sway bar. Mine was just a little to loose for me. I know its got to be possible to build a sway bar system for these things. the stock car scene has tons of different stuff to make a custom setup.

no doubt it's doable to build a custom disconnectable one.... just haven't looked at it myself...
