Sweet Ebay Jimmy

Is that the stock location for the emblem on the tailgate? That looks like it was just stuck there with bubblegum.

For that kind of money, do you get the wheel chock?

Don't get me wrong....I like it:laugh:

Nice looking Jimmy, but the tailgate emblem is supposed to be on the chrome trim across the tailgate. Not above it. And not many pictures included in the sale.

Makes me wonder what he's hiding. Looks awesome in the one picture he has though.

scroll down...there are about 20 pics, maybe more.

Agreed on the emblem being in the wrong spot. Also, there is a pic of the underfloor area near the T-case...and the paint there is medium blue. :dunno:

Lots of overspray around the frame rails too. Also, does anyone know when the bumperettes were first available? I looked at Dremu's brochure site and saw nothing going up to about 77 or so...I know my '83 has em, and they're listed on the option sheet.

Frankly, I think if he is looking for that kind of cash, and he claims to have the original option sheet he should have posted a pic of it. I've never seen a K5 with that particular color, but the brochure page of Dremu does show it. Must not have been very popular I guess. That's what makes the blue underfloor so weird to me.

Anyways, it is nice, very nice...but I really doubt he is gonna see more than 8 or 9K for it. There is one $10K bid, but I'm inclined to believe it's a "friend" bid to get things started rather than a legitimate bid.

Just noticed the other pictures. That's a really nice truck. Anyway, it matches his house too. He must like green. Only in California....

I noticed the blue on the floor to, and what`s up with the emblem. I do like how it matches the house.....You`d think he could`ve vacuumed it before the pic for that much. The door seams and paint in the jambs looks good.

For being such an original jimmy, it could have at least been cleaned out and vacuumed. Whats the masking tape on the edge of the door jamb for?

Does anyone see the port with the hose on top of the oil cap? I have never seen that before

I love the color of it!!

Yup, that's a blue truck. They painted it green to match the house! Someone needs to dig them up and smack em in the back of the head.

If that truck was repainted, they did a top notch job of painting the engine bay too. Are you guys sure the floor pics aren't grey rather than blue? Looks like a grey primer hue to me.

The primer would have been a red oxide. They used that a long time. I know my 79 blazer still has it, and my 63 Impala had it.

I agree on the top notch painting. The seam sealing on the firewall looks factory.

But then again, why would the emblem on the tailgate be moved?

Yeah, I definitely think a few things are off with it, but I think the green paint is original. I can't say I've seen the underside of one that old before. I know my '75 has old undercoating everywhere.

super nice blazer, not sure if its a repaint or not but the other thing I noticed was a speedo corrector on the t case speedo output. Don't know if they ever had bigger tires on it or what.

I dont' mind when someone wants a ton for their stuff but if he says all original well then it should be. Dang nice truck though I would rock it

Hate to disagree but I have a 73 Jimmy my family bought off the showroom floor. The GMC logo on the tailgate is in the stock location and is correct.

The thing that I did find interesting is the 203 that is under there has the 2 piece aluminum output housing. I was under the impression that they did not go to the aluminum output until 77 or later.

In any case, it is fairly unmolested and really clean for a 74.

Cheers,

Rufus

From what I have seen ( and who knows if these trucks were stock or not), but I have seen the aluminum output on several 74s, but every 73 has had the one piece cast iron piece

And that green is a stock color for 74. Bright Green Polly PPG color#2676. Looks like original paint to me. If it is a repaint, the attention to detail was phenomenal.

cheers,
Rufus

Well, both of mine are 73's and they both have the cast iron output so you certainly could be correct on them showing up in 74.
