Swing Out Tire Carrier/ Tire Gate

Well since I tapered the bed I don't need this anymore. It is my swing out tire carrier/ tire gate for a pickup. Don't know If it would work on a blazer or not. You have to remove the factory tailgate and drill a few holes to mount it. It is 1 3/4" .120 Dom so it's stought. The hinges and the latch pin holes are all made with the fabricators greasable bushings from DIY4x. I made a lockable plate for 8 lug wheels but it could be drilled for other patterns. Any questions just ask. It wasn't cheap because DOM is pricey so I am Asking $400


Its been tested pretty hard at Moab and held a heavy azz 37" Krawler without a problem. I think that it would handle a 42" or a 44'' without a problem.

I really like it, if I could figure out a way to mount it outside and keep my tailgate , I might buy it.

I guess you could make a new outer frame to mount it another way. Why do you want to keep the tailgate? you could skin it in some thin sheet metal or expanded metal to make it more solid looking and to hold small things in better.

I definitely want it since that's exactly what I plan on buying for my 74 K5 when I start building it...going topless, doorless, tailgateless, full cage. But right now I would be hardpressed to talk the "boss" out of the funds to get it from you, plus the shipping would probably be painful too. Unless you might be looking for a tranny/tcase...I have 2 sm465/np205 combo's available, would be willing to trade one of them for it.

I like to run my A/C in the summer, no tailgate= no back window.
