Nice! I'd thought of doing something with the ashtray as well. I think now, the console I have planned will block it off, but it's a very good place to add stuff.

Looks great, if only I still had an ashtray. Guess that my two switches will just have to be happy on the face of the old ashtray assembly.

Nope, my CB is mounted there, and I am cutting up the housing and ashtray door to mount three outlets and two switches. CB is pretty secure against theft the way it is mounted.

My plan is to use the face of the ashtray assembly, with some careful
to fill the gap and still look original to an extent. The contura switches are nice, but they are spendy, and I don't yet have a purpose for the second switch, keyword yet.

nice spot! I use my ashtray for my pens and tire gauge. My CB is mounted directly beneath the stereo. I never thought of putting my switches in the ashtray.

I actually plan on doing something very similar but I plan on welding a metal plate in my ashtray only I am going to recess it a bit because I have switches that are a little longer plus they light up and I want to be able to hide them just to give the truck a clean look.
