I have an 82 Jimmy with a 6.2 with V-belt system. What do I need to do to change to a Sidewinder Belt system. What year engine do I need to look for to pull parts from? Can I get parts off of gas engines?

88 Up new body style 6.2 or 6.5 diesel truck. You need the brackets and the power steering pump off the motor (or another power steering pump with the port for the hydroboost). All the other accessories swap out from gas motors of the same era. You cannot re-use your V-Belt accessories as they are not the same.

The brackets are the same I believe for all the serpentine 6.2 / 6.5's but they do not interchange with the gas motors.

You also need the reverse rotation water pump, water pump backing plate, water pump pulley and crank pulley . . .
