Hello All,

I'm about to start on the SYE kit for my NP241 T-Case and I'm looking for some advice on the down stream parts (drive shaft & angles). It seems like the best thing to do is get a new drive shaft made with a CV style joint at the t-case and then rotate my pinion to be in line with the driveshaft. I'm running a 4" suspension lift with an ORD zero rate add-a-leaf in the rear.

--Any recommendations on the drive shaft (U-joint's, yoke types)?
--Anyone know about how much pinion angle I'll need?
--Are there any shops in the NOVA/DC area that will relocate spring & shock mounts?
--How difficult is the welding for the spring & shock mounts?

Thanks,

When I did mine, I changed the pinion angle 7-8 degrees. I have a shackle flip, so I was removing shims to get this angle. Just get a broom stick or something straight and run it from where the new T-case output will be down to your axle pinion. Measure this angle (angle finder) and compare it to the angle of the pinion. The difference is your new shim. If anything, set the pinion a hair low to allow for a little axlewrap.

Here's the thread on what I did: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=224707&highlight=driveshaft&page=2

I used a stock front flange (3R) and had the C/V shaft made to fit it. This saves $90+ for a custom flange, assuming you can find a cheap/free 3R (Saginaw CV) flange. Maybe this will give you some ideas.

Flanges are better than yokes with little centering ears because those ears can wear over time allowing a little slop in the joint.
