synthetic winch rope ? on warn 8274

i have a used warn 8274 and its got synthetic winch rope on it with a billit aluminum fairlead bolted on the front.

my questions are :

#1 = is storage in direct sun/weather bad for it ? been sitting on vehicle outside for 3+ years.

#2 what basic care do i need to do to keep it happy and live a good life ?

got the winch today . act picked up the whole parts only blazer it was on.

got the unit off and was looking it over. found it to be real clean and little to no use. by dating the unit its a early run as its got the front plug in remote and metal flap cover.

then was looking it over and noticed a web site on the aluminum fairlead for the rope . okoffroad.com got there and 50 bucks for fair lead and 250 for 5/16" x 125ft of amsteal winch rope http://www.okoffroad.com/main.htm

i think i got a deal on the whole thing . winch /remote/cover/old rusty warn bumper/winch rope/aluminum fair lead all for 300 bucks.

now to finish a few projects and get this on the crewcab project STUBBY and go play.
