I didn't have either of these on my truck when I got it. I think from what I have seen the t-case brace runs from the bell housing back? I also believe I am missing the starter brace.

If anyone knows any other braces I am missing I would probably want those too.

My truck is a 6.2 with an sm465 and a np208

Thanks

Thanks Ill give them a call, but they have never been helpful with parts for old cars in the past.

I don't think 4spd's came with the torque rod from the bellhousing to the t-case.

Not impossible as most (but not all) t-cases have the threaded holes. The trick is I don't think there is a bar the right length so you might have to get an auto application bar and cut/sleeve it.

edit: if you really want to tighten thing up and you have a hydro bellhousing, you can use the bell to motor mount bars from an auto.

I looked up the transfer case strut/brace in the GM parts book. Based on that, you would be correct in all but one circumstance. A 4.3 V-6 with either MY6 or M20 would get the brace/strut. No other standard shift did.

Thanks for the part number. So I'm guessing the t-case bar would fit, it just was not put on by gm.

Before you order, which starter do u have? Direct drive or gear reduction? DD is the BIG one...
They take different brackets fwiw. I have a dd bracket if u need it.

I know it is big, but I don't know if it is big in comparison. I have the 24 volt starter if that helps. Is there anything I should look for that will show which type I have?

This is the gear reduction starter:

Ok, thanks for the pic. I definitely have the direct drive.

My 465/208 had the bar. I will look and see if I have it still

I had an '81 K10 with a 465/208 and it had the rod. I think the '85 K20 outside with the same combo has it, too. I do know the hydro bells have the two bosses threaded for the two short support rods but I have never seen them on any of these '85 and newer trucks.

Fwiw I put a set of auto trans bars on my hydro bellhousing.
