t-case shifter knobs

Been putting this off for a long while. This is an attempt to teach and learn myself about the shifter knobs so I have another thing to obsess about. Kind of like the t-case skidplates and crossmembers.

Lets make this about the shifters, too. And also the 203's along with 208's since we're all here.

I'd like to see pics of the 2 differences between the 203 shifters for the 350 and 400 trannys.

I want to see pics of 205 shifter knobs from '69 clear up to '91. Not sure exactly what year they began but have read somewhere '67 had a few of them.

I have a few NOS knobs here like an '80, '83, '85 and some newer types up to '91 that have yellow N and box around that letter.

Lets see if everyone can post up a pic for each year. I'm interested to see the differences, etc.

my 72 is pretty much worn off.you can only slightly read the shift positions.ill try and get a pic.i got the 465 if you wanna see that also.

The top lefthand knob is a NOS to fit the '80 year.

The top righthand is the rounder and lighter weight plastic one that fits the K30's up to '84. I'm not sure if they started in '81 along with the body and frame change. Which is why I'm waiting to see what others post up of their '81 to '83 K30's.

Bottom lefthand is the '85 and up K30. This is a little heavier as it seems like they're metal with a rubber coating over them. My '87 V30 has this knob also.

Bottom righthand is a NOS piece here and the same as the '85 and up but with the yellow N and circle around it with the parking brake notice. I'm waiting to see if anyone else posts pics of their '86 on up to '91 to see where these knobs started.

My 89 looks like th bottom left. I dont have the yellow square.

My 88 is shaped just like the lower left except there is no writing on it what so ever. Its for a 208.

71 K5 205 shifter knob. Hard plastic w/ white lettering. Not sure if this was a replacement somewhere along the way.

Its factory. I remember seeing knobs like that in the older rigs. I'm just wondering how long did they run your type thru the years before the next style knob.

I have an old knob like that from a 72. Maybe they changed in 73?

My 88 with the 208 is just a round hard plastic ball, no lettering. The t-case positions are indicated by the floor trim piece.

My 82 K30 is like the top right. Those Billet knobs look cool but I would imagine they would be colder than hell on the hands at 20 below zero. I could just see my hand being stuck to them in these cold Wisconsin winters!! HA HA HA

My 75 has the top left. The top left is by far the most common one I have seen.

Yea, I just thought for a minute, my sm465 has the T-handle aluminum Hurst shifter knob on it. Boy do I feel like a dumb@ss. I've always ran them on my stick shift vehicles, just never dawned on me.
