is this what I need to make a 4l80-e work behind my 6.2l...?

it's a stand alone transmission control module. I see them on ebay from time to time...

have a rebuilt 700r4 I'm planning on swapping into my burb due to mileage isssues, but I'd rather have the 4l80e

I got the notion here...about mid-page...wondering if this and a harness will do the trick.

Hmmm...You guys have got me thinking.

How cool would it be to have a a 4L80 or hell even that 6L80 behind a 6.2, then maybe add a doubler.....hmmmmmmmmmm :D

just did some snooping around, O'Rielly's has them reman for $98 + core...:waytogo:
Part # 73-7609

just need a harness....

Building a harness is easy, assuming you can still get the connectors and terminals. Mouser will probably be your source for that. Just have to know what Delphi called that type of connector/terminal, and you can either look it up on mouser, or delphi's website, and cross reference the part numbers.

The 4L80E HMMWV's use the same TCM as far as I know, which means there are a bunch more out there than just civilian trucks.

I think that using black (or any single color) wire is fine, which makes getting the wire easier and cheaper. You should be using the wiring diagram for troubleshooting anyways, and the connectors are numbered so wire color is redundant.
