After buying my K5, one of the steps was to add a tach. It is an '87 305, 4spd manual, with a remote ignition coil(not the one inside the distributor cap). Where can I mount the reciving wire to the tach to get an accurate reading?

K-5, because size DOES matter!

There should be a wire tapped to the wire harness that goes to the coil. I think it is brown? It will have a connector on the end. The tach lead will plug into this. Look by the coil you can't miss it. This is the hook up for a factory tach.

Yup, it is the light colored wire that comes off the coil that is not connected to anything(unless you have a factory tach) That is where I pluged my tach into.Works fine.
