Mine is on the column. It is a nice setup, but I will eventually put in factory, or factory looking in dash tach.

On my K30, I use a small Sun tach. It is mounted on the instrument cluster bezel over the steering column.

It is an Autometer tach that has a curved bottom and is attached by zip-ties. It turns when you put it in gear. I will try to borrow a digital camera and get a pic of it. I like that it is right there next to the speedo, next best thing to a factory tach, IMO.
