So i've had a Sunpro tach for a while... I'm going to hook it up soon. I think i've lost the directions, any one here installed one and have any tips or procedures.. i know that the white wire splices into the white wire going from the distributor to the firewall... or am i wrong there too lol. By the way its a 90 k5 with a 350

Is it HEI? If it is it has a tach port on it where you just plug it in. Then you gotta run a power, power for the light and a ground. Its very easy.

Sorry just noticed the year model in your post. Mines carbed but seems like it would still be the same on the dizzy.

hunterguy- where is this tach port, it is hei.
On the right side of your distributr is a wire. Close to this wire, it says "tach" and there is a terminal which you can plug into.
You can download the sunpro instructions somewhere, because I did it a few years ago when someone gave me a free sunpro tach.

it should have an external coil and you need to hook it up on the wire that is coming off of it (the one not hooked up to anything else).

On the external HEI you want to hook the green wire on the tach to the white wire on the - side of the coil. Red to ignition on power. White to parking lights. Black to ground.

On the external coil it is not marked, but it is the white wire. I can get a pic of mine if it would help. Sorry it took so long, been out of town for turkeyday.
