are they good to have for a automatic or is it just a waste of money, considering they dont have one for stock 90 blazers, is it even needed?

do you find yourself dropping it in 2nd.. then punching it in mud and hearing the motor scream??? if so id say yes...

I have one, but I also plan on swaping a 465 in.. you can see your rpms When I dropped it in 1st playing in the sand, rpms got up to about 4500 or more, and thats good to know

I think every car should have one. Good thing to know. Even for an auto.

I installed an AutoMeter tach on my steering column last night. I just wanted it for my awareness. I also have an auto tranny.

I think they are a necessity. I hate driving cars w/o them. But i really hate it when its not an auto.....yes, i can shift by the sound, but some cars are pretty quiet, and its way better to know exactly what your RPM's are if you happen to want to know.

Some will argue it's silly in an auto.. coughJekcough.... :wink1:

Tho not as imperative as for a manual, a tach for an auto gives you MUCH valuable info..

Haha, or in my case, its saving my a$$ while my trans is messed up, and Will over rev.....no more 2nd gear. So in this case alone, its saving my butt.

i have a 465 and my blazer didnt have one in it!!!! really annoying. so i went down to autozone and bought a $55 sunpro. looks good and now i can see what the hell is giong on too!!! i think its a necessity on any vehicle reguardless of transmission type
