Anybody ever put seats in their trucks from a 95-99 Tahoe? If so, what was involved? Any pictures?

I was thinking that the only thing I would have to do is drill another hole on one side of that pedestal and bolt it to the floor. But that sounds a little too easy.

If this ends up being in my realm of abilities, these seats could also be an option: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130291620391&_trksid=p2759.l1259 :D

I'm just trying to think of some cheaper alternatives to the $700-800 I'm looking at for a set of Corbeau Baja RS's with brackets (assuming also that they will bolt on, email to Corbeau pending).

A few people have done late model Silverado swaps, I am planning one myself. My plan is the newer version with the integrated seat belts. The bracket must be flat, which it appears those are, in order to use them. My understanding is that only one hole is going to line up, the rest must be drilled.

Make sure to add some steel under the floor to help secure the seat against possible pull through of the bolts.

I'm trying to go with a seat that doesn't have the integrated seat belts because I don't want to do all that floor reinforcing.

Judging by the dimensions of the bolt holes (and you say I'll need to drill 3), they will only be a little bit off so I may have to take it to a shop and have them weld in some reinforcement to the pedestal and drill in new holes. Sounds like a lot of work, I'll have to think about it.

I have done current and previous truck seats in a k5

I have a set of 09 silverado seats in my k5. email me if you would like a pic. The pre 08 old body styles are nice because seat belts are included and the back goes forward. The problem with mine is I will have to get a tahoe or surburban seat belt and customize the install so the seat belts worked. The console / seat in middle fits nice also in our trucks.

did you use the console or the console/seat combo? i thought the consoles fit flush with the dashes in the new trucks

seats

The new trucks have two choices of center console/ seat the one I have has drawers on top and bottom thats the one i used. Email me ill send pics later [email protected]

I installed seats out of an 01 Silverado in my K5. Only one hole lined up, had to drill the rest. I just welded a couple pieces of 1/8" plate to the underside, similar size to the factory pieces.

I think 01 seats are the same (or very similar) as the ones in the link from a 95-99 Tahoe. Do you have any pictures? How's the height?

They seem to sit about an inch or 2 lower, I'm not sure on that, but it is def. a touch lower. Its actually more comfortable for me, since I don't have a tilt column. I also like where my arm hits when resting it on the window sill. Give me a few mins and I'll put up some pics.

Allright, here's the pics

Just an overall view - I threw together a console out of some MDF and old carpet. Its huge, I can put A LOT of shtuff in it. I also finally have cupholders!

All the way tilted forward (also they recline nearly flat)

I used the existing forward most hole closest to the trans tunnel, then drilled new for all the other mounts. Make sure its "square" before you drill. No one likes to sit in a crooked seat!

I put a set of 2005 seats out of a chevy 1500 single cab pickup in mine. Best thing I've done to it so far. I bolted a piece of 1/4" plate on each side...bolted the plate to the floor through orginal holes, then bolted the new seats through holes I drilled in the plate.

I just took some measurements for the hole patterns. I'm thinking I'll bolt 2 pieces of 1.5" or 2" angle iron together to form a offset, then i can use existing holes. I'll update the post when I finish. Merricks garage has a set of cnc brackets. pretty slick !! But I don't have $500+ for brackets

This is a blast from the past!
I didn’t end up getting the used seats. I went with Corbeau. They came with a bracket to bolt right on the stock mounts. Expensive though. That was 14 years ago now and the seats are still good, so I can’t complain too much.

Ya, i knew it was an old post, but ok, thank you. I've decided to fab brackets with angle iron to create an offset. That should mean no drilling new holes

I had mid 90s seats in when I bought the truck. After that I had Subaru WRX seats. Now MasterCraft.

If you go with seats that have integrated belts, make damn sure it’s structurally bolted down with plates on the back under/side. Don’t need brackets pulling through the floor if the seat belts are “needed”. :waytogo:

Very true. Nothing like head butting a windshield, or unscheduled flying lessons
