Just got rid of my 97 yukon this week THANK GOD !!!!!!
What a P.O.S. it was,,,
42,000 dollar truck purchased brand new in 97.
problems?????
fuel pump failed in the middle of down town houston 38,000 miles
Intake manifold leaking antifreeze 42,000 miles
battery failed 45,000 miles
front brakes replaced 45,00 miles
Steering position sensor failed 60,000
rear u-joint failed 64,000 miles
transmission valve body failed 68,000 miles
rear wheel cylinders leaking 70,000 miles
waterpump leaking 70,000 miles
replaced master cylinder 70,000 miles
oil leak front crank seal
bad idler arm
starter failed
fuel sensor inside intake plenum leaking fuel inside manifold
doors dragging on striker pin
pass doors electric window failed
numerous plastic trim pieces fell off inside (seats etc)
map holder straps on sun visors fell off
windshield on pass side fog creaping between glass layers
both headlight lenses yellowed and looked like they were melting
This truck was driven only by me and my wife and was taken off road once in Big Bend national park in West Texas,,, and that was only rock road trails,,it was never wheeled hard.
Sad to say But I for one will never be a buying a new Chevy ever again.
I love the old iron,,,but today's chevys suck.
BTW this truck was replaced by an '06 Ford,,,,brand loyalty only goes so far,,,,
