Hey guys,
How easy is it to remove the tail gate ?

Could someone explain it to me in NOOB form please.
I just got one of those pro net cargo net thingys and it looks like it might look cool :pimp:
Thanks in advance

I assume this is for a pick up? Never seen someone put one on a Blazer. Pick up is SUPER easy, as you just flip the metal support bars off of their pins, and then lift the gate out one side before the other. On a Blazer, you unbolt it from the tabs and undo the springs and cables. Also not too hard, but the helper springs can be a bit of a trick sometimes.

you need to open the gate at 45 degrees, then twist the brakets that hold the gate when open in a way that the slot aligns with the shape of the pin holing it on the bedside and pull it off, then depending on which side yours is while it's sill at 45 degrees pull on the gate to pull it out, one side of the hinge is not round and will come off, then you slide the other side off the hinge.
Takes about 1 minute for me sometimes less, it probably will take you 10 minutes with my instruction if you have never done it before.

I just unbolted the hinges from the floor, removed the restraining cables and slid the whole tailgate off. The PO had removed the springs, so it was super easy, nothing fiddly about it.

A fully loaded Blazer tailgate is heavy, though. You will need an extra set of hands at the very least. You definitely don't want to drop that sucker.

Thanks imiceman, gona try and get to it tonight , is this for a blazer ?
Im a bit concerned about the tourqe rods.

No, Iceman's method is for a pick up. The torque rods will slow you down a lot. Make sure you've got a friend to help, because they're HEAVY. I've used a full-sized plastic trash can in the past as a good device for resting the gate on while working on removing it.
