My Tail light Assemblys do not sit flush with the metal, They stick out slighty. Is there different ones for different years? The LMC cataloge says 73-87??? Mine is an 82-PU

I think what your seeing is pretty normal. You may be able to trim the plastic down on the back side to drop the lense in further but not sure if you can go to far or not. I don't think I've ever had a set sit flush.

Not a truck, or a good pic for that matter,,
but mine stick out 1/4 inch or so, and its a 85. Id have to look , but i recall theres a strip of rubber between the lens and the sheetmetal .Good luck , Jacob
