We have an 85 K5 with 2.5" dual exhaust. That is dumping right at the back of the mufflers. Is there anyplace I can get just a prebent tail pipe for each side? Running it out at 45 degrees on rear corners. So far all I can find are cmplete systems.

Are there universial tail pipes that might work?

Prob better off to got to a muffler shop or a parts store and match something up IMO

Another vote for a muffler shop.

I can't imagine any prebent pipes are available since A) the truck never came with duals. B) placement of the current mufflers under the truck will effect where the bend over the axle and all subsequent bends.

Oil burners had the factory dual exhaust (my Jimmy did) you will need to order that set up from the manifolds back. Or as said go to muff shop.

Here ya go...

Muffler shop get my vote. Make them however you want. cheap aftermarket pipes don't last, been there. Shop is well worth the little extra cost.

If you can weld... Go to summit and order a few of the u bends they have for $15 a piece or so and make your own.

Love how mine worked.

Walker still makes the 6.2L diesel exhaust components (including tailpipes), but those are only going to be correct for the diesel mufflers. Will be the same story for any exhaust setup...if it's not stock, a stock piece won't work.

Exhaust shop will be the best choice.

Only cost me 300 bucks to get Midas to redo my exhaust from the header back with turbo mufflers. You could supply whatever muffler you wanted and they will bend up the rest of the pipe and hang it for cheaper. Plus the cost of your pipes you supply of course. I had them do another of my trucks with a flowmaster I supplied and it was two hundred. Both were 2 1/4 inch duels.

If you did the piece it together thing from a parts store it would take a lot of time and measuring. The 6.2 exhaust you would just have to work from the rear forward and couple the two in the middle with the muffler somehow. Would work though.

I never measured anything on mine. Just cut and twisted into place. If needed I cut more then tacked till I had a perfect exhaust.

Those flowmaster kits are the way to go if you dont want a shop to do it for you. I only wish they had kits that had the pipes exit straight out the sides as opposed to the 45*.

That is still time consuming. I have in the past also took the original pipe and took it to the store and brought pieces out to measure with the individual pieces to figure what I needed. Was still a pain. Now in pa I was also told to pass inspection the pieces have to be welded together as you are Only allowed 5 clamps on any exhaust system. It does depend on the mechanic looking at it but I had to keep that in mind when redoing my exhaust. Also every Piece had to fit inside the other on the way out to help so it wouldn't cause exhaust leaks. Just a few things I've had to deal With.

With this couldn't you call up customer service and see if they could do this for you? Would take 5 seconds For the tech to put a tighter bend on the tail pipes. For what you pay for one of their exhausts there ought to be a option for this somewhere.
