Need to inspect and lube up in inner works on my 85 Burb`s rear window and need to raise it with the gate down. Isnt like my 84 K5 with the safety switch on the left latch you could jump. Where is the switch on this one or would just engaging the latches do the trick.
Thanks Guys.

I did this once and cant remember but I think I just engaged the latches and it worked. I would go try it now for you but my truck is a few states away from me right now.

Better off just taking the plate off and putting it all up and then climbing in back with flashlight. WIth the gate down and window UP, you run a very good risk of busting it.

I got a support gizmo I used on my blazer so thats covered,I figured Id tint it also to match the side windows and havin the gate down window up would sure make it a easy deal.

Just flip the latches. It holds itself fine about 3/4 of the way "up." Don't go too far or it will snap off.

mine must be broke rolls out down with just the button. Use a saw horse with towel to support window when greasein the regulator

Just latch it. It should work, and put something under it to support it. I would just put a trash can under them to hold them when I would tint them never broke one.
if you tint it with it out you can get all the way to the edges so it will look better and come out cleaner if you don't wash all the dirt out of the tailgate felt. Leave about a 1/2" from the felt because it will go down in when you close it so it will not show, This will also keep it from peeling up later.
