found some bad wires i hade to replace still a few more to go.
I WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND USING A HOUSE ELECTRICAL CORD TO RUN WIRE IN A CAR!!!

this is what i found when i put the thing in and it rolled up and down then i closed the tailgate and it didn't any more. so i started looking and found broken wires and twisted electrical taped up wires i am surprised it hasn't caught fir

i am going to cut it out completely and convert to manual
there will be no hous cords when i am done

Oh ok but then what about key?

order new key for manual and sell all electric stuff i have.
i just replaced it all 2 years ago cable is only a year old

Sad to hear. I have the electric set up and love it. I replaced the wiring, motor and key lock and have no problems since. Enjoy the manual window set up.

well i wouldn't mind electric if it wasn't butchered from the p.o.
it has all new motor regulator and cable but i would have to rewire the entire setup from under the dash to the rear.

Is it butchered under dash too? There is a connector on the engine side of the firewall where the tailgate wires mate up to the cab "interior" side of the tailgate wiring.

oh i was looking and the orange extension cord goes under the dash they wrapped it in a combination of electrical tape and corrugated wire loom haven't looked further was cold, dont have a garage

Ha, I know the feeling. Truck sitting in garage with no oil pan, don't feel like working on it when it's 30* in there.

Slightly ironic, I also need to fix the heater in the truck.
