So I don't have a key for the manual tailgate (75) i know I need to get the solenoid out so that I can bring it to get re keyed. However I wanted to know if anyone has done this and if so how involved is it, Is it simple or a headache?
I have the scematic for how it goes together but I just forsee it being a tight fit or something being wonky.
If anyone has any advice that would be great.

It pretty much all has to come out to get to the lock part. Window, regulator etc etc. Easily the most finicky part of a K5 IMHO...

I was able to do it with the regulator in place. There are holes in the regulator that allow access to the two nuts that hold the whole crank/lock assembly in place.

The glass has to be supported and partially rolled.

I replaced mine and had a new lock cylinder keyed to the door lock, it wasn't too bad.

IIRC - I did it with the tailgate up and had someone hold the lock in place to put the nuts back on. It's been two or three years since I did it.
