Tailgate Pissin Me Off

Well my tailgate rattles to death. All I hear if I have the stereo down is rattle rattle boom boom from the tailgate. Ive ordered a new latch for the left side since it wasnt latchin.( I could pull the gate open without using the handle) Is there a way to make the gate close a bit tighter or maybe a place to put rubber or somethin to shut it up? Where do these rubber stoppers go? MIne rattles and squeaks ALOT! but it opens and closes like normal. I dont have those torsion bar things so its heavy as hell lol.

Is it rattling because it is not closing tightly or because there is something loose inside the tailgate?

Its not closing tightly. I have to slam it shut really really hard if not I can just pull it open without using the handle. Tonight I was greasin up my window regulator and I started messin with the rods. Would the rods be making the latches not catch or do you think the latches are just worn out. I ordered a new drivers side on Friday from Chevrolet but I didnt order a passenger side /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
