Tailgate Power Window Coversion

Does anyone know if someone sells a "tailgate" power window conversion kit? I want to change mey rear tailgate window from power to manual.

Go to a junkyard. Get the parts. Might be worth it to get the whole door

I'm fairly sure it's the same window holder/attachment so you can use the old one.

OK here we go, to go either way you need the guts out of the one you want AND the window. The channel on the bottom of the window is differnt for power than it is for manual. Its glued onto the window, some claim you can get it off but i havent ever seen it happen without the window breaking. I have the guts for manual window but not the glass. You pay the shipping and its yours if you want.

I recently installed the glass from my original 73 manual tailgate into a newer Electric tailgate with no issues what so ever. The window bolted right in using its original channel. I dont know what year the tailgate is exactly since the guy I bought it from pulled it from a junkyard a few years before, but it had the wide aluminum band and was from a fuel injected Jimmy if that helps anyone narrow it down.

Are you sure? I have both types of windows and haven't done a side by side, measurements, etc but they did look the same to me. What's different?

Hmm it may be a diff in the 73-80 and 81-91 my 85 was manual and the 78 tailgate i had was power and the glass would not interchange.
