Does anyone have a wiring diag for the tailgate power window ? My only want to lower. I have power coming from the switch, I jumpered out the tailgate must be closed switch and the motor is new. It works both directions on the bench just fine. The window is not binding because I can run it up & down using a battery drill to drive the cable. Any ideas ?

Thanks

Safety switch! We dont need no stinkin saftey switch! No seriously, I dont have a safety switch on my Burb. There are two power leads coming from the body to the tailgate; one for up and one for down. I dont have a cable either, mine is all gear operated. Maybe too many differences between 88 and 85 for me to be of much help.

Sounds like he did that guys. "I jumpered out the tailgate must be closed switch and the motor is new"

It works on the bench, then it has to work on the truck as well, unless you didn't run power to the wiring through the connectors. How about the ground?

When did they use a cable ?? My 78 didnt have it or the saftey switch . My 90 has the saftey switch but still no cable.

Thanks for the input guys. I have dug a little deeper and have more than one problem. 1) the tailgate key sw will only open the window. 2) I have power to the dash sw and then out on either wire, but I'm getting only open. It appears the wire to power the window up must be open somewhere. I guess I may just run a new cable from the dash sw back to the tailgate.
Thanks again.

I see it your link and in my service manual but I have never saw it in a suburban tailgate ( never opened up a blazer one I thought they were the same ). My service manual shows a utility vehicle model and it has the cable but it also has a suburban model and does not have the cable. The motor bolts to regulator where the gear box does with the cable drive. Is the gear box 1 to 1 or does it step up or down the drive ?? If its 1 to 1 then whats the point of having it?
