Has anyone done a writeup on doing a tailgate rebuild? im not finding much and would like to go threw mine soon.

I'd definitely be interested in seeing this myself. I have a full spare tailgate sitting here waiting just in case, but I'd rather not swap it out unless the one that's on it right now rusts to hell.

Damn window...

Here's what I know:

The two gear arms are spring loaded. If you take that apart, expect them to move/jump suddenly. Read - cut your fingers off.

My grease was old and gummy. I sprayed everything down with WD-40, wiped it off, and coated it with white lithium grease. Moly grease would probably be fine too.

My motor-to-gearbox cable was rusted solid. I replaced it and things run faster (why they didn't just mount the motor to the gear box I will never know ...)

My safety switch was dead. I put one of those wire vampire things on it to connect the two wires together and complete the circuit.

Most parts are available at www.LMCtruck.com if something is broken or missing.
