So my friend bought a 1980 burb and the rear glass didnt go down due to a missing motor and since it's been sitting for 10 years so we couldnt even get the glass to slide down by hand, so last night in classic bonehead fashion we decided to take the regulator out to get it un siezed not knowing it's a giant mouse trap. So we pulled it got all the grease and rust cleaned out and got the glass to slide down. The thing is the gears became unmeshed with eachother is there a good way to get them re meshed?

Yeah that was the video that made me feel like a complete dumbass. Idk we might just man handle it into position

Well it's going to rain today so last night I took a stab at it. I got them meshed wrong once so it didnt work and in the process of getting them unmeshed again I smacked myself in the ribcage. and the spring popped out. From bad to worse really fast. So I got the spring back in but I dont think it was clocked right the spring tension was lighter. but we got them meshed properly and it bolted in. Still need to order a motor but for now we can at least shove the window up and down. Gonna see if we can hit up a j yard around hear because we are missing the cover panel as well.

I had the original manual regulator to my '75 K5 actually pop while I had it out to clean it. The stupid clock spring on the back side is strong enough the whole thing sprung and did something similar to yours. If my finger was in the wrong place it would have ground it into hamburger through the gear.

Thankfully I had a spare I was putting back in. Tossed the old one. I think you might have a problem trying to get the gears re-timed right.

I actually got them re timed. kinda tricky but doable. Anyone have any suggestions on replacement motors and parts?
