Hello everyone,
This is my first post here. I'm hopeful someone can help me. The problem I have is with my 1989 Jimmy tailgate. I had to replace the rivet rollers on my regulator. In doing so I must have affected the gears when removing it for when I replaced it I now find my rear tailgate window will not go up all the way or down all the way. How to I reset the gears on this regulator? Thanks!

I am assuming this is electric. There is not a "reset" location for the gears. The window goes up until it stops. Going down there is a bar on the bottom that triggers the stop. If it is not going all of the way in either direction, It is binding on something.

Open the tailgate. Set the latches on the tailgate to the closed position to fool the controls. Put something under the window to support it as it opens. Remove the access panel and run the window while watching for what is binding.

That's what it was 'binding'. Thank you for steering me in the right direction you saved me a lot of fruitless headaches. Much appreciated!
