I saw this pop up in my FB feed. I thought this would be nice for blazer tailgates. Anyone try it yet?

I have a truck tailgate on my K5 with a softopper. Its great but rattles a lot. This might stop the rattles. Its 73-80 and of course I have a 90. I may check into this and see if they have others available.

So basically, only good for show vehicles, assuming you don't sit on the tailgate.

They offer some cables instead of the steel bars. They may rattle a lot less.

I saw that. My 91 came with cables from the factory. I wonder if it would work in conjunction with this.

I wondered that too. Cables to make it strong, supports to make it cool.

They do have them for 81-87. It looks like you have to trim out the strut path in the sheet metal. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS-F...lgate-Saver-Shock-Strut-81-87-GMC,561826.html. Dampening the motion sounds good and finding the right length cables to eliminate the rattles sounds good, but it's not going to make the latches any easier and the dampers will just mean you have to shove harder to latch it.

Unless they have one way valving and little to no resistance on the way up.
