Anyone know what year the conversion was not possible anymore, I know it somewhere in the late 70's or early 80's that GM stopped putting the barn door mounts in the tailgated burbs. Need the year please.

oh man not a clue, but if you do go to doors you'll love em! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

My 84 /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif (tailgate style) is not "dual-patterned", so it must be 83 or older. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I could have sworn they left the mounts in for the entire run... afterall, it beats the crap out of having to stamp 2 individualy different rear ends.

personaly, I prefer the Tailgate on mine, although having a lift can make it inconvenient to get stuff thats at chest height out of it.

Edit: 84's not dual pattern? there goes my theory...

No, not all were interchangable, they stopped doing that in 82 or 83 when GM stopped making burbs for ambulances. That was the only reason for the interchangability.
