Tailgate Torque Rod Question - Probably Dumb Question

I have been searching for tailgate torque rods. The diagrams I find show ONLY ONE torque rods and it is on the passenger side. Do the 77-91 tailgates only have one or do they have two torque rods. My tailgate is missing any/all torque rods. Also....I see in the LMC catalog another rod called a CONTROL ROD. See the attached images. My K5 does not have this. Are there any sources for this part?

There are 2 torque rods, at least there are in my 87 K5. I posted in the classifieds here and another member was gracious enough to send me a set. I don’t believe they are reproduced.
 
Damn!

I found one that was an NEW OEM rod. Not sure which side. I need the other side I guess. Also what is the "Control Rod'

There is an auction on eBay and the seller has several PASSENGER side torque rods. I got one. They are OEM

i have all kinds of tailgate parts. if you can`t find any in a couple days. i don`t know what side this one is. here was a small box i dumped out. with old and newer style pivots.and lock out rods
tail gate latchs. I have more. But I have chemo from 8am to 1;30 tomorrow and it kind of wipes me out. I will look and see what i have this weekend.just pay shipping shouldn`t be much.

Absolutely interested in the torque rods and the two end caps with the big hex bolts. I attached an image of the torque rod I have. Can't tell from the photo if yours is the driver side or passenger. Can you flip it and take a photo from an angle? If your box-o-parts has more stuff I'd love to see them.

Take your time, it seems you have alot on your plate. Take care of yourself first.... This can obviously wait.

o.k i forgot to ask what year you are working with ? 73 to 80 has different brackets at the frame. the small triangle ones are that style. the 81 up has the frame brackets with the bumper mounts.for the torque rods. i think there are slight differences in the rods. Here is what i dug up. these are from my 76 i put a truck tailgate on it. I guess all my other parts are at our property up north. i don`t plan on going up there until the end of summer,it`s 300 miles away. you are welcome to the parts in the picture. just pm your address and i will mail them off to you on thursday.
pass side torque rod inside and outside bracket lock out rod and guide.sorry it took so long to get back to you. truck they came off, parts i have for you.

I never realized there were different brackets at the frame. My problem is I have a 77 frame with parts from every possible Year all over the truck. Tailgate appears to be from and 81 or higher. I definitely need a passenger side torque bracket. Why don't you send that along with the brackets. If I have to Frankenstein something I would rather have all available options then standing there scratching my head wondering what went wrong. I can wait until the end of summer for any other parts you might have. I am just now starting to remove the driver side quarter panel for replacement. My Saga is in my build page.

In your earlier picture there were several other parts. If those are available I'll take them too.
