Tailgate window stuck up.

Hey guys I searched and found a ton of info about the tailgate window being stuck down, but mine is stuck up. The motor is good tried turning the cable with a set of vice grips and it is stuck. Any suggestions I want to take the top off on Saturday for the dune party. Can I take the 4 bolts off that hold the glass in then take the regulator off? I read that it is spring loaded so What do I need to do?

I read this thread but it was about the window being stuck down.

The big spring in a tailgate is what helps lift the tailgate. The window one is smaller and not real dangerous IMO, unless you have your hands in the mechanism. I would hit all of the moving parts in there with penetrating oil, jumper the motor "on" and grab the glass as much as possible and push down on it. It could be the mechanism rusted, the glass stuck in the window channel or both. Hopefully once it moves at all, it will just start working again.

Be careful not to wreck the window channel in the topper because it's expensive to replace. If the whole channel comes out that's OK, as it can be put back up, but tearing it is the concern.

It worked last year so I dont know. I'll try jumping the motor on and pry the glass down. I did hit everything with PB before I went to bed last night.

Take it apart Jess I have had this happen something is always wrong in the mechanism

I just put a new cable in mine , now I need to figure out how to get to the key switch and fix that
