tailgate wire harness

can any one tell me where the harness is supposed to be from truck to power window tailgate?
does it run inside frame rail with the taillight harness

Yeah. Comes up driver's side. If you look at the bottom edge of the tailgate, the hole where the assist spring goes into the tailgate on the driver's side is larger than the hole in the passenger side. This is for the harness.

mine has 2 round plugs ,one with single male spade and one has a double male spade,

my truck side has 2 plugs like yours sticking thru the frame that are hooked together

Mine is also an 88. It's off the truck in the sig pic.

Is this on the '88? Not sure what year they changed (1984?) but 1988 should most definitely be weather pack, not the spade/rubber bodied connectors you seem to be describing which were used much earlier. Same style connectors as what is used for the taillights, just flat (up to two wires), not square (4 wires).

I am putting this truck back together, its been totally apart for about 8 years,ive used various parts from different trucks,so its possible I ended up with a older year tailgate harness
