So i did a front end rebuild on my truck last weekend and now i dont have tailights. Turn signals, brake lights, and reverse lights all work. just no taillights. Fuse is brand new. But nada. any suggestions on what to check?

What did you rebuild? Are you talking about just tie rods and what not, or like pulled the front clip off rebuild?

New gears, wheel bearings, brakes (rotors, calipers, pads), and locking hubs. Had it parked in my buddies driveway for 2 days and when i went to leave i had no tailights. Its my DD and i dont want to get another F**king ticket.

On the firewall to the right of the fuse block bulkhead connector there is a set of wires coming out. The park lights are the brown wire, and it should feed down under the body to go to the rear. Check this wire to see if you have power, if so then the problem is towards the rear of the truck, then start tracing the wire to look for the break. If there is no power flowing through the firewall, I would be checking the light switch to see if it failed.

I know its sounds like a long shot, but check the bulbs. Also, Do your dash lights and lighter work? I'm pretty sure they are on the same circuit. If not, that may help you with a starting point in your search.

tail lights, as in running lights, or brake lights?

You may need to just adjust your brakelight switch at teh pedal.

well i was workin under the truck last night and noticed that there was a brown wire down there and it was melted like it had hit the muffler a few times. And my dash lights dont work now. i guess theyre on the same circuit. imm gonna slice in some new wire where its melted and see what happens
