tailpan brace rusted out... big jo b to replace??

The thing that the tailgate hindges connect to is rusted out (tailpan??). Looks like it's held on each end by 4 bolts. I'm thinking there has to be more to it then that... How much work is it to replace this thing??

You better believe there is more to it than 4 bolts. There are a bunch of spot welds to remove in order to completely replace the panel. You need to get it down to bare metal to see where they are. You'll need a mig or tig welder to do the job of replacing it. Not a job for an amatuer or for the faint of heart!

here is what I did to my 4x4. My floor was also rotted so I replaced the whole thing. I was 17 when I did the project, I'm very mechanically inclined so this project didn't bother me at all but it was really time consuming because of all of the cleaning and painting. here are the pics of what my truck looked like and what it does now and you can see if your's in as bad or not.
