Tailpan cover replacement ?

While doing this rebuild I have been unable to find a replacement for the aluminum cover that goes across the back of the truck above the tail pan, to hold the carpet (I am using MIP) down.

Anyone seen where to buy one ?

Am considering :

1-1/2 X 1-1/2 X 1/8 Aluminum Angle 6061-T6 Aluminum Structural Angle

15 bucks for the stuff 15 more bucks for shipping !!!

Suggestions anyone ?

and here mine is sitting in the dirt since I've ripped out my carpet. Don't know what I'll be doing with it just yet.

I think there is a similar aluminum plate made for that purpose for home use on carpeting where it ends and meets a wood or tiled floor,it has ribs on the underside to hold the carpet and is usually ribbed on the top where you'd step on it for anti-skid ..

Yes, a threshold is it's name.

However, that does not come over and around the edge like I remember my tail pan cover doing.

Or, I my memory bad ?

LMC truck has replacements. I used a piece of 1/8 x1 1/2 angle from Homo Depot with the same type of mat in the back of my Burb.

Aluminum stair nosing is available from home improvement stores and carpet stores. Aluminum angle might be more durable, and should be available locally.

Thanks for the help. I am impatient. I ordered the 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 1/8 aluminum angle for 30 bucks delivered 15 for part / 15 for shipping.
