Tailpan question

Hello everyone,

I have the same problem like a lot of us have. The tailpan for the tailgate is rusted to hell, but only on one side. The right side is nonexistent but the left is almost perfect. My question is should I buy a whole new tailpan or should I try to make my own and weld it in?

Now were do I go to buy one? I seem to only find forums, but never the actual product for them
