is there a spring or anything in the column that will get lost inside if i take out the column shifter stock? i have the v-matic on my floor now and just want to take out the column shifter stick. the reason i ask is because i MIGHT go back to full auto in the future and i dont want it to "explode" inside the column if i do.

I have done that, just pop out the pin that the stock shifter pivots on and pull it out. Yes everything will stay where it needs to if you decide to put it back to stock.

awesome, exactly the answer i was looking for! thanks man!

It's a pretty good security item too. If you move the collar into a "gear position" without the shifter in place, it will not let the vehicle start because of the neutral safety switch on the column. I paniced one day and went all through the electronics and ignition stuff, module, dizzy etc. Then I realized I moved the collar into the reverse position by mistake. This was after installing my Megashifter!:haha:

haha o man, thats funny, ive done $hit like that. thanks for the tip;)

i took a section of all metal with the holes in it and bolted my old shifter tab on firewayy to the firewall so it couldnt move. then took saws all to the lever.

no problems with gear shifter moveement and so on.

I just put the column in park position and took black tape and went round and round the column so it can't go out of park anymore then down the road if you take the floor shifter back out all needed is the stock shifter and take the tape off and you're back to a sunday crusier!!!!!
