im taking the top of the column apart so i can replace the lock. was told the white part for the turn signals should fall out. well its not. has wires to it. no idea how to get to them.. know how to get to them and take the cover of the back of the column where the turn signal goes in?? thanks any help would be great

pull on them nicely and they should have enough play in the wire to put it over the column threaded center part which should give you enough room to get the lock out.

the wires run thru a plastic sleeve in the column, come out down under the dash..... then goes in the plug mounted on the top of the column... sometimes if you unplug the harness you can get some additional wire out the top... really shouldn't be hard to get enough slack to get it to "roll over" the shaft...
