Re: Taking doors off......How in the (darn) do I get.....

Just did this at the PickNPull last weekend.
There IS a bolt going to that captive nut, but it's inside the quarter panel. There is an access hole, 3" across or so, for you to get at it.
You'll want to remove the vent on the driver's side (ie pull the instrument cluster panel cover off) and prolly remove the glovebox on the passenger side.
Then you need a 6" extension or so, or else you will chop the hell out of your knuckles. A stubby ratchet helps, though if the bolt is tight you may need a longer one.
I'd do that bolt last as once it starts to come free you can weasel the hinge back-n-forth to help the ratchet.
The bottom hinge was what pissed me off; couldn't get a ratchet on it and didn't have the right wrench (planning!) so I ended up having to loosen the fenders to get at those bolts.
OBTW, you might consider NOT removing the hinges, and just grinding out the center hinge pin... replacing the bushings, and doing the quick disconnect thing.
I did this on my '74 and it's well worth it. No readjustment required.
