talk about hardcore!

Let me be the first to say that accomplishing those bends with that bender (it is hard to figure where to start the bends) is quite an acheivement.

Looks mostly like a trail/mud buggy, so I would wheel it few worries.

Using sched 40 it'd be safe in a flop. Wall thickness is close to .200" so it isn't gonna fold like a cheap tent. A high speed roll would be something different, but i highly doubt it'd ever see more than 40 mph anyways.

If he'd used conduit I'd be worried...

My problem with pipe is that some is structural and some is not. How do you KNOW that you've used structural?

At least with tube it's all structural, no guessing.

Look at the last post!!! the one that says it sucks... Is that a familiar name or what? oh wait he joined the banned

I didn't say I'd use pipe...just that it probably isn't as weak as it may look. Of course the ideal would be tubing with at least some triangulation, which is what I chose for my own truck.

To be charitable, it was built and not bought and could very well have been his first attempt at something like this, which is why I'm hesitant to offer my initial impression of it. Looking at the location and the wheeling pic's I'd also have to assume it'll never see any rock crawlin or air time.

To be less than charitable it appears he asked for no help, and did next to no research before beginning...or just felt he already knew it all. There certainly appears to be a marked lack of imagination combined with using all the wrong tools and materials.

I didn't mean to infer that you would, sorry if that's how it came across.

Second the 'built, not bought', but with a steel yard at his disposal he choose pipe?:doah:

LOL, maybe he builds cattle guards for a living?

He sure as hell doesn't work for Shannon Campbell...
