I'm not getting this cause it is a 3/4 ton if you are interseted the guy's e-mail is [email protected]

Just need to get your info. on this.

I have the chance to buy a '86 K5 with 1 tons and 38.5" boggers for $2200.

As much as I love K5's I need the 'Burb. and would have to sell this after swapping the parts I want.

What I am thinking of doing is buying the rig and swapping front axles and who knows what else.

I would want to then resell it as a k5 with 3/4 ton axles.

It has a pretty straight body, 4" suspension, 3" body lift, 350 with vortech heads and 38.5" boggers.

The biggest problem is it is not smoged or registerd and the interior is a bit beat.

Do you think I should do it or pass.

Sounds like too much trouble for just the front axle.

If you planned on using a bunch of parts, part the rest on here.

Leave it for someone that will finish it.

I would jump on that in a heart beat. Take the 60 and put a D44 up front and re sell it! Don't let this deal pass up!

i'd be on it too. smog shouldnt really be much of an issue, since there are plenty of us who live in the rust belt who would love to have a clean straight Cali body.

If it doesnt have a CCC carb, I say your fine, but if it does, PASS!
those little bastards NEVER EVER work right... and IIRC you have to smog to change title

we just did a diesel conversion on an 85 to get rid of that %^^& after dealing with it for too long... 2 years ago it was like $600 to get it from "barely failing" to "barely passing"

i think it would be a good deal, but what would really sway me away from it is if there were differences in the gear ratios between your axles and these. it would be rather spendy to regear your rig, and then regear that rig as i don't think it would be quite right to sell someone a rig w/ two different gear ratios in their boxes.
