Talk to me about seats...

86 K5 (CUCV M1009).

The seats are worn the fock out. Driver's side is basically broken, I had to drill a hole through the hinge and put a bolt through it to hold it up. I'd like to get some seats from a newer truck and put them in. I love the seats in my 02 dodge ram with the center console jumpseat. I really like the chevy seats though, with the built in seatbelts.

Any ideas what would fit/not fit? I'm capable of fabricating brackets and what not, but I would like something that will fit the width properly - ie not too narrow or too wide. Anyone every fabbed something up with seats from another truck?

One question I haven't seen addressed is the rear seat.. Are there any trucks out there that I would be able to match front and rear??

i dont know about matched seats, buy there are ppl on here with newer chevy seats in the front of their truck, i have 97 dodge ram 402040 bench seat in the front of mine, had to fab up some brackets, but its perfect width wise.

I put seats from an 02 GMC in my K5, I love the way they sit. The front tracks bolted right into stock holes, but the rears I had to drill new holes for.

They do sit about 1" lower than stock seats, so I drilled holes in 1" sqare steel stock and they sit at a comfortable level.

If you do have to drill new holes with any seats, make sure that you reinforce the floor with washers, or a piece of steel.

What should I expect to pay for a full front set of seats including console from a pick and pull? I know its different everywhere, but I'm just looking for a ballpark. IE, is $500 way too much??

I found a pair of leather chevy seats from an 03 truck for
200 and that's a deal. You just gotta shop around

I bought the pair of mine for $100, and the console was $25. Did not pick that up though...regret that. It looks like it would fit right in. Or atleast damn near close
