Is anybody running one and if you are is there any clearance problems between brake booster and valve covers? I've heard its close with a regular big block. Thanks.

cool, that is just what I wanted to hear.

Here is a picture on the motor in the truck, so you can see how much room I have.

I had a 366 in the dually I just traded off it was 2-wheel drive it didn,t have any clearance issues

Unless you have 3" minimum body lift, there is no way you can run tall valve cover ill tell you that, im startin to get worried about mine, i got my valve covers now, and i got a 2" body lift normal block height, i have a feeling its gonna be close.

yellow k20 how much room you got inbetween the valve covers and brake booster? Cant tell from that pic.

k20, let me see some pics when you get them valve covers on.

Ringmaster, looks like you got room. 3" body lift helps. I have 1.5" now but I want to ditch it.

So how much higher is the valve cover mating surface of the head, standard block to tall block? I will be setting in a bare block standard height, soon to do some mock up and I could just set my valve covers on and measure then.

Nominal production block deck heights on small block V-8's is 9.025". The production big blocks have deck heights of 9.8", while the tall deck truck 366T and 427T big blocks have deck heights of 10.2". Bowtie big blocks are available in "short" or "tall" deck versions.

This site has lots of info on tall deck motors.

[/ QUOTE ] about 4" Enough to get the tall M/T valve covers on and off fairly easily I do not have a body lift off any sort

i have my valve covers on my engine ,but the engine is on an engine stand, look in my pics at one of em, it shows the ehigh of them compared to the manifold. They are some big bastards. Im going to have to run a TB spacer so I can run my stock air cleaner lol.

There is 2" between the booster and the VC on my 76, Kert. Sounds like a good excuse to go Hydroboost. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

if you go hydro boost I bet hydro assist steering won't work very well anymore huh?

I am hoping that boosting the stock volume from the pump will cover both. /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif
