I know it has been covered but i just checked out my gm service manual and for a full-time tansfer case it says motor oil,for a part-time case it says gear oil.My question is if you convert a 203 to part-time shouldnt you use gear oil then??????Truck is 77 /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif

Good timing for this post. I was checking over my '78 beater that I just bought, and found it had gear oil in the NP203. It has a part time kit in it, so I was wondering if gear oil was recommended after the kit was installed. I'll change it to 10W30 syn.
