I need a good tap and die set, one that will cover most all fixes. What do yall recommend?
My Dad has that same set, and I have used it numerous times, most recently when I was repairing the broken bolt in my head. It works very well, and has the most common sizes.I ordered the biggest tap and die set(combo. standard and metric) that craftsman had on their web site. It is made by another company, but it works great and has every size I have needed so far. It was expensive, but it has a nice plastic case with a tray that sits inside to hold the metric sizes. The standard sizes sit in the bottom of the case. I don't have any complaints about these.

recently purchased this set ratcheting driver is nice and gearwrench is easy to get warrenty
I don't need the tap set, I have a crap load of taps, but I like the Gear Wrench ratcheting tap handle. I've been happy with their ratchet wrenches so I bet the tap handle is good too.
on a similar note, I've found Lisle tap sockets to be invaluable....

what do yall think about these irwin adjustable tap sockets....just as good as the lisle set?

I've seen em... tho I'm sure they work pretty good and wouldn't mind having em, I REALLY like the Lisle's being sized exactly for the taps, and especially like the little O-ring retention gig....
